maxon all in one motor
Brushless DC flat motor with integrated motor controller.
maxon motor’s versatile modular system which allows engineers and machine builders to select from a wide range of DC motor, encoder and gearbox parts, to create a motor sub-assembly system for project specific needs, also now incorporates controllers. The range of brushless DC flat motors with internal hall sensors and outrunner external rotors give an excellent torque advantage created by the lever arm effect of having the normally fixed permanent magnets in a ring to form the motor rotor. This creates for a very short motor giving the opportunity for locating the brushless motor control unit in this saved space. Pictured here is the maxon 45mm 30W 72.8mNm brushless DC flat motor which uses hall sensor feedback for speed regulation by the internally selectable motor controller option. The advantage of using a controller factory fitted inside is all gain and motor value configuration is predone for perfect performance matching. The end effect is a two wire system that for all intents and purposes appears and performs like a two wire brushed DC motor. Further amplification of the motor torque is achieved by a ratio selectable range of planetary gearboxes. Pictured is a 42mm Ceramic Planetary gearhead with a range from 3.5:1 to 1296:1 reductions giving a high torque output of up to 22.5Nm. The assembly has an overall length of just 101.7mm for the entire combination of brushless motor, sensor feedback, control unit and planetary gearbox.
Common system voltages of 12V, 24V, and 48V are selectable or you can contact maxon motor Australia for assistance with a custom winding to give the exact K/V levels on a brushless DC motor for your application requirements.
