maxon offers a range of Heavy Duty (HD) brushless DC motors that are suitable for a variety of drilling applications, hydraulic valve controllers, communication mechanisms and measuring instruments.
A robust design with laser welded connections, linear motor characteristics, low energy consumption and low magnetic interference adds to the motors high reliability that is needed for the extremely harsh oper-ating conditions in the oil & gas industry. The maxon HD brushless DC motors feature efficiency levels of up to 88% in air and over 70% in oil. Designed to withstand extreme temperatures up to 200°C as well as pressure, shocks and vibrations (to 25 Grms) and impacts to 100G, these HD brushless DC motors have zero cogging making them easy to control and suitable for precise positioning. The applications befitting these brushless DC motors are measurement while drilling (MWD), measurement and inspection systems, valve controllers and hydraulic pump systems.
The HD brushless DC motors are designed for, rated and tested to meet the harsh operating conditions. Combined with new electronics technology they allow for improved control and monitoring of drilling procedures.
