New multi axis DC motor position controller
maxon Group announce the release of the 6 axis DC motor control MiniMACS6.
MACS modules (MACS = Multi-Axis Controller System) autonomously handle closed-loop control of highly dynamic positioning and synchronisation functions for up to 32 axles of servo and asynchronous motors, or open-loop control of small devices. The control devices are used in particular in applications where PLC solutions are too expensive or do not meet customer specific demands.
With its latest development, the MiniMACS6-AMP-4/50/10, maxon | zub is launching the next generation of DC motor motion controllers. The size of the controller makes it suitable for system designers who develop compact and autonomous robots or shuttle systems. With the MiniMACS6-AMP-4/50/10, we offer a low-cost controller that controls up to 4 axes and can be expanded modularly. The controller contains power amplifiers for 4 BLDC motors, or alternatively for 6 DC motors or 3 stepper motors, now with up to 60 V and 10 A per drive. If a drive is run in parallel in “TwinMode,” the maximum continuous load increases to 18 A. A significant advantage is that the controller is freely programmable with the comprehensive ApossIDE automation software and the license-free Motion Control Library (written in C). Integrated bus interfaces enable efficient data exchange with higher-level controllers. However, it is also possible to run complete process sequences autonomously, without a PLC or PC. ApossIDE makes it possible to create programs using hierarchical state machines, enabling the development of comprehensive applications that are well structured, easy to understand, and maintenance-friendly. Several state machines can be called up and processed in parallel. The unit is configurable for brushed and brushless motors up to 540W continuous and 1.6kW peak.
